작가노트 INTRO

 

삶에서 가장 중요할거라 생각했던 것들이 옅어지고 새로운 것들이 그 자리를 대신한다. 영원할 것 같았던 사람들이 흩어지고 새로운 인연으로 메꾸기를 반복한다. 늘 함께일 것만 같았던 사람이 각자의 자리를 찾아 떠나고, 우리의 옆자리는 비었다가 다시 채워지기도 한다. 반짝반짝 빛나던 새로운 장소는 빠르게 익숙해 지고, 또는 익숙해질 겨를없이 사라진다.

 

사람이든 장소든 기억하려 노력하지 않으면 잊혀질 것들이 너무나 많은 요즘. 언제부턴가 나의 인연들을 기억하려 기록한다.

이것들은 기억과 동시에 내 주관적 인상이 곁들어진 재현의 작업들로 변하기 이전, 내가 처음 마주했던 그들의 모습을 기록하며

이제는 점점 그들 자체의 모습인 상점의 초상으로 쌓여간다. 나를 위한 이 행위가 어쩌면 우리를 위한 기록이 될 수도 있을 것이다.

 

About Artworks story

The things that I thought would be the most important in our life are gone and new things come instead of that.

People leave to their new place and new someone comes again. Sometimes I thought we're always together but People who to be always together leave their seats, and the seats next to us were sometimes empty and re-fill again and again.

Every space has a story. The story about Record and Remember and It's part of daily life.

It would be so many things to be forgotten if you don't try to remember, people or places. So I painting for remember my favorite places, stores, restaurants.. It called 'The Portrait of a store'. The 'Portrait of a store' was like an art archive of spaces. I painting when I saw them first time before they changed. We have a lot of stories everywhere.. in my town or next door.. or somewhere.. These works from that kind of our life. It started just only for me but one day

hopefully these works to be for everyone.
